- I'm getting error 3051 and Service Record can't open the
database.
First, check that the read-only attribute is not set on the file SERVICE.MDB.
This file can get marked as read-only if you have backed it up to CD and at a later time
copied it back to your computer.
This error could also be caused by conflicting database libraries. Check the C:\Windows
and C:\Windows\System directories and delete the following files if they exist:
VBDB300.DLL
MSAJT112.DLL
MSAJT200.DLL
You may have to turn on the "Show hidden files" option in Explorer because it does
not normally display DLL files. Finally, download and
install Service Record again. Service Record should now work properly.
- How do I back up my
Service Record information?
Servie Record stores all of the information you enter in one
file: the Service Record database. To back up your data, simply copy this
database to a floppy disk or other backup device. The file is named
SERVICE.MDB and is located in the Service Record
directory... typically C:\Program Files\Service Record.
- When I try to print a report or
review, I get a message stating that "an error occured while
trying to start your BMP program."
This problem happens when you have no valid "print" action
associated with BMP files. To fix this problem, try
downloading and running this
small program. It will associate the "print" action to MS Paint,
which does a fine job printing Service Record reports and reviews.
